The TFD log scanning solution includes a PLC based log scanner system that makes use of Banner head scanning modules and a standard Siemens S7-1200 PLC.
The system eliminates the need for signal converters and controllers which increases overall system reliability.
The scanning & reporting software for the TFD Scanning solution is developed in house which provides the following key advantages:
- TF Design can change / update any report to suite a client’s specific needs.
- TF Design can provide remote [online] or in person backup to any client when and if required.
- No 3rd party involvement when dealing with scanner software related problems.
The TFD log scanning system can accommodate a wide range of log diameters between 10-900mm log diameter and any log length.
Scanning accuracy is 2.5mm diameter increments and sampling rates are every 20mm for the length of the log.
As standard, the TFD Log Scanner can action, measure & report the following:
- Log thin & thick end diameters & orientation
- Log Length.
- Log Profile.
- Log Sweep & Crook.
- Identification & classification to link log scan batches to individual suppliers.
- Log Sorting
- Sorting into predetermined diameter & length tables
- Sorting Over/Undersize/Reject Logs with sweep & crook that are outside the defined tolerances.
