TFDesign developed an energy efficient veneer log conditioning chamber to heat pine logs before the peeling process.

Saturated steam is used to increase the core temperature of the logs to the required set point to ensure accurate & high speed peeling.

During the continuous process the timber trolleys are pushed by a hydraulic ram feeder system through the different heating zones in the conditioning chamber. The moisture content of the logs stay constant during the heating process, reducing the veneer drying time compared to traditional hot water log heating systems.
