Our Origins
TF Design Stellenbosch is a mechanical and electrical engineering company established in 1993 and based in Stellenbosch, a town long recognised for its strong academic legacy and as a centre of technical innovation.
At the time, South Africa was undergoing rapid change, and many established engineering groups were disrupted by shifting economic and research priorities within the country and abroad. In response to this uncertainty, the founders created a company rooted in practical engineering and a collaborative work environment that facilitates adaptability.
From the outset, TF Design embraced principles that remain central today: small but highly skilled and motivated teams, direct owner involvement, open communication, streamlined processes and customer focus. This culture has allowed the company to address complex engineering challenges with agility and to adapt across a wide range of industries.
Built on these foundations, TF Design continues to blend technical insight with hands-on application, delivering innovative solutions in an ever-evolving landscape.
